Our Zumba workout mixes body sculpting movements with dance steps derived from cumbia, merengue, salsa, reggaeton, hip hop, mambo, rumba, flamenco, and calypso and Salsaton. The routines feature aerobic interval training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms. It targets areas such as the glutes, legs, arms, abdominal, and the heart. Our Zumba class is typically not formulaic in that our instructor often adds on their own music choices and choreography to make the class presentation locally unique and fun.

Miché Wilk's customers are melting away.

Each time they join her on the floor for an hour of Zumba, a fitness craze that incorporates an array of upbeat dance styles, she said a little of them disappears.

And that's her goal.

Wilk is head coordinator for Zumba Las Vegas, a business she owns and operates at two northwest fitness studios. She worked for years as a professional dancer and singer but retired when she gave birth five years ago.
